Kris has been a licensed insurance agent since 1986, both in Minnesota and Wisconsin. She and her mom, Mavis Melstrom, opened Croix Insurance in 1989. She is licensed to write Personal, Commercial/Business insurance lines along with individual health and medicare supplements.
She excels at finding the most competitive insurance package, that fits a business or person/family’s ever changing needs.

Kris grew up in Prescott and has a great love for the community. She returned to Prescott and has dedicated countless hours volunteering for numerous local non-profits, promoting and working at all levels for: Prescott Chamber of Commerce Board, Prescott Foundation Board, Prescott Library Board, Friends of Freedom Park Board and Prescott Daze Committee. She has led the Prescott School District’s Parent Groups and co-chaired their largest fundraisers over the past decade. Currently she serves on the Pierce County Board of Supervisors.

In her spare time she enjoys spending times with family and friends boating, traveling, shopping and snowmobiling. She loves enjoying life along the St. Croix River.
